Pusha T on Fractured Relationship with Kanye West : “He Knows I Don’t Think He’s A Man”

Pusha T has opened up about his relationship with Kanye West ahead of the release of Clipse’s first album in 15 years, Let God Sort Em Out.In a new interview with GQ, Pusha T shared how he felt like he was “playing the industry game” in the last few years of working with West. Pusha T cut ties with Ye and his G.O.O.D. Music label, where Push served as president, in 2022. He reaffirmed that the bridge with West is burned, citing the rapper’s rants about him and online outbursts as part of the reason.
“He knows I don’t think he’s a man,” Pusha T told GQ. “He knows it. And that’s why we can’t build with each other no more. That’s why me and him don’t click, because he knows what I really, really think of him. He’s showed me the weakest sides of him, and he knows how I think of weak people.”
Related VideoPusha admitted that he made “great shit” with West and gave the rapper credit for giving back 50% ownership of his G.O.O.D. Music artists’ masters to the musicians themselves. But when asked about whether Ye could be excused for his behavior because of his history of mental illness, Pusha T said west is “sick” but “calculated.”

“If I take your sickness and take how calculated you’ve been and disruptive you’ve been and tried to be to me, then it cancels itself out,” he said. “I can’t look at it as sick, because you’re detrimental. You’re detrimental to everything.”
Pusha T also got candid about how the reunion with his brother Malice came to be and their experience working with West together. The two began considering a reunion after West had asked Malice to return to music for an appearance on his 2019 record Jesus Is King.
Pusha T said he warned his brother about the “foolishness” that would await him if he worked with West. Still, Malice obliged and the duo appeared on “Use This Gospel” on West’s album, although the collaboration was not without frustrations.

“I feel like we were [suddenly] convinced that it could happen,” Pusha T told GQ of their first reunion thoughts. “But there was so much going on within the whole Ye circle…. If we decided we were going to jump into it, then we should be jumping into it. It wasn’t progressing like that. So, I think, if anything, that was a stumble on just trying to make it happen and everybody not just being on the same time schedule. That was bothersome to me.”
The new Clipse album is finally on its way after some false starts, including a demand from Def Jam that they remove a Kendrick Lamar verse from the new project. The duo has since left Def Jam and are partnering with Roc Nation to release Let God Sort Em Out.
Clipse released the first offering from Let God Sort Em Out, “Ace Trumpets,” in May, which name-dropped West. In response, West tweeted that he “missed” his friendship with Pusha T.

Let God Sort Em Out will be released on July 11th.

It’s every karaoke night, every beat drop, every ‘T-Pain saved this song’ comment, every scream when I hit that stage. This isn’t just my story, this is our story. Nilüfer Yanya is back to announce a new EP, Dancing Shoes, set for release on July 2nd. She’s also unveiled the new song “Where to Look.”Dancing Shoes follows Yanya’s 2024 album, My Method Actor, which we deemed one of the best releases of the year. Comprised of four new tracks, Dancing Shoes was written and produced with Yanya’s close collaborator Wilma Archer during and in between tour dates supporting My Method Actor. The EP also features “Cold Heart,” which arrived last month.

Reprising her raw, spellbinding guitar work and considered attention to mood and atmosphere, “Where to Look” has all the touchstones of Yanya’s dynamic indie rock sound. The song really begins to lift off in the second chorus, where Yanya’s guitar stumbles into a wall of fuzzy reverb and provides more power and emotion behind her croons. While the EP it’s on is called Dancing Shoes, “Where to Look” isn’t exactly dancefloor-friendly, instead boasting a more introspective tone. Stream the track below.
Related VideoYanya has a busy 2025 ahead of her; in addition to a busy summer performing at festivals like Glastonbury and London’s All Points East, she’ll return to North America for a lengthy stretch of shows opening for Alex G. shame Announce New Album Cutthroat, Release Title Track: Stream

The UK post-punk band shame are back, and have announced their fourth studio album, Cutthroat. Listen to the lead single and opening track, “Cutthroat,” below.Due on September 5th via Dead Oceans, Cutthroat is the follow up to shame’s 2023 album Food for Worms, and spans 12 new songs produced by John Congleton. Speaking about the album in a statement, frontman Charlie Steen, said, “It’s about the cowards, the cunts, the hypocrites. Let’s face it, there’s a lot of them around right now.”

The band expanded on that attitude in a longer joint statement, hinting at a restless drive beneath the record’s surface. “It’s driven by hunger,” they said. “Hunger for something better. For something you’ve been told you don’t deserve. It’s primal. It’s raw. It’s unapologetic. It’s the person who turns up to the party uninvited. ‘Cause when you’ve been pushed down, there’s nowhere to go but up. When you ain’t got nothing, you ain’t got nothing to lose.”
Related VideoTo that end, Steen likened the album to the band’s live performances. “This is about who we are,” he said. “Our live shows aren’t performance art — they’re direct, confrontational and raw. That’s always been the root of us. We live in crazy times. But it’s not about ‘Poor me.’ It’s about ‘Fuck you.’”

The lead single, “Cutthroat,” is built around a driving arrangement with a psychedelic tint, and introduces the album’s conflation of arrogance and insecurity. In a statement, Steen said, “I was reading a lot of Oscar Wilde plays where everything was about paradox. In ‘Cutthroat,’ it’s that whole idea from Lady Windermere’s Fan, ‘Life’s far too important to be taken seriously.’”
“Cutthroat” arrives with a music video directed by Ja Humby. Watch it below.
Along with the announcement of Cutthroat, shame also unveiled a run of UK and European tour dates, beginning in September and wrapping in November. According to a press release, “US dates will soon follow, so stay tuned.” See the full list of their upcoming tour dates below, and grab tickets here.

King of the Hill Voice Actor Jonathan Joss Was Victim of Hate Crime, Husband Says

Earlier today, it was reported that Jonathan Joss, the voice actor known for his role in King of the Hill, was tragically shot and killed on Sunday following a dispute with his neighbor. Now, Joss’ husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, has issued a statement revealing that the incident was, in fact, a hate crime:My husband Jonathan Joss and I were involved in a shooting while checking the mail at the site of our former home. That home was burned down after over two years of threats from people in the area who repeatedly told us they would set it on fire. We reported these threats to law enforcement multiple times and nothing was done.
Throughout that time we were harassed regularly by individuals who made it clear they did not accept our relationship. Much of the harassment was openly homophobic.
When we returned to the site to check our mail we discovered the skull of one of our dogs and its harness placed in clear view. This caused both of us severe emotional distress. We began yelling and crying in response to the pain of what we saw.

While we were doing this a man approached us. He started yelling violent homophobic slurs at us. He then raised a gun from his lap and fired.
Jonathan and I had no weapons. We were not threatening anyone. We were grieving. We were standing side by side. When the man fired Jonathan pushed me out of the way. He saved my life.
Jonathan is my husband. He gave me more love in our time together than most people ever get. We were newlyweds. We picked Valentines Day. We were in the process of looking for a trailer and planning our future.
He was murdered by someone who could not stand the sight of two men loving each other.
The alleged suspect, identified as Sigfredo Alvarez-Cega, was arrested and charged with murder shortly after the shooting.
Joss voiced Redcorn on King of the Hill from seasons 2 to 13, and had recorded lines for the series’ upcoming revival set to air on Hulu this summer. He also notably played Chief Ken Hotate on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation.

Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” Rickrolls Past 1 Billion Spotify Streams

Rick Astley’s No. 1 hit “Never Gonna Give You Up” has rickrolled its way past 1 billion Spotify streams, nearly four decades after its original release.“I never could have imagined back in 1987 that ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ would still be going strong decades later,” the English singer said in a statement. “Thanks to streaming platforms, a whole new generation has been able to discover music like mine. Reaching 1 billion streams is something I never dreamed of and to everyone who’s ever listened, thank you.”
Following its initial release, “Never Gonna Give You Up” went No. 1 in more than 25 countries. Two decades later, it found a resurgence through an internet meme known as “rickrolling,” which tricks users into clicking a link that redirects them to the song’s music video.
Revisit Astley’s 2022 appearance on The Story Behind the Song podcast, where he discusses how “Never Gonna Give You Up” made him an internet and pop culture phenomenon.

Fyre Fest Now Attempting Return As Weeklong Caribbean Island Getaway

The Fyre Festival brand is apparently attempting yet another pivot, this time promoting a new island getaway in Honduras. This latest venture was announced today, June 2nd, via a collaborative Instagram post from the official Fyre account and the festival’s founder and convicted fraudster Billy McFarland. The post included a trailer for the Fyre Coral View Pop-Up in Utila, one of Honduras’ Bay Islands. Marketed as “an experience built for adventurers, creators, and the curious,” the weeklong getaway is set for September 3rd through 10th — though no reasonable person could expect it to actually take place as promised.
A statement on the newly launched Fyre Hotels website provides further context:
The inspiration for FYRE started in 2013 when a software engineer and hobbyist pilot challenged Billy to leave NYC and to try and fly a small plane from NYC to a remote Caribbean island. Along the way, Billy overshot, ran out of gas, and was saved by a landing strip on a remote island. The magic of the island created a legend that quickly spread back home. These trips grew from a single engine propeller plane with four crazy entrepreneurs to the talent lead and adventure infused trips that became FYRE Festival.
After news broke a few weeks ago that we were putting the FYRE IP up for sale, we got a message. A small beach resort and the island of Utila, Honduras had seen the headlines — and they had an idea. They have tapped FYRE to bring global attention to this off-the-map gem, programming unforgettable experiences, and simply enjoying life at the edge of the reef.

This was a no-brainer for us, so just like that, FYRE has found its way back to the spark that started it all. In early September, FYRE returns to the Caribbean for the FYRE Resort Pop-Up at Coral View Utila—a weeklong escape blending adventure, spontaneity, and paradise. What better way to make our return to the Caribbean after 8 years?
Related VideoIn case you haven’t been following along with recent developments, McFarland began soliciting offers for the Fyre brand in late April after Fyre Fest 2 was postponed indefinitely. Some of the Fyre IP had already been sold to documentarian Shawn Rech, who revealed plans to use the name for a new music-focused subscription video-on-demand platform.
